POLYMER RESEARCH SCIENTIST
Reporting to the Principal Scientist in Research and Advanced Development, this position is responsible for developing new materials for research projects designed to advance the performance and understanding of E Ink's paper-like electrophoretic display technology. This individual will be a member of a team responsible for developing new electronic paper display platforms and materials for external and internal customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and synthesize new polymeric materials with unique chemical, optical and electrical properties;
- Invent and prepare new pigments for electrophoretic ink applications;
- Collaborate with colloid scientists and ink formulators to increase understanding of electrophoretic mechanism;
- Aid in developing manufacturable routes to practical new pigment formulations and provide guidance to Development, Pilot and Operations to implement improved E Ink products;
- Plan, schedule and execute experiments;
- Analyze, present and document the results
- Knowledgeable in latest research and techniques.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry with 3 - 8 years of experience;
- Demonstrated ability to apply latest polymer synthesis techniques;
- Demonstrate knowledge of Design of Experiments;
- Must have excellent communication skills, a strong sense of urgency and a performance metrics-driven style;
- Must have sound analytical skills, attention to details, strong problem solving skills and a demonstrated high level of creativity;
