E INK TO SPEAK ABOUT COMMERCIALIZING ELECTRONIC INK AT ELECTRONIC DISPLAY FORUM

E Ink To Discuss the Role Of Partner, TOPPAN, At Industry Conference in Tokyo

Cambridge, MA. - April 15, 2002 – E Ink Corporation, the leading developer and marketer of electronic ink technology for paper-like displays, today announced that Ryosuke Kuwada, Director of Marketing - Asia, will present on "Going To Market With Electronic Ink" at the Electronic Display Forum (EDF) in Tokyo, Japan.

Kuwada will present on April 18 at 11:20 a.m. in the Tokyo Fashion Town TFT Hall in Tokyo Big Sight Area. His presentation will address E Ink's advances on all fronts, including technology and manufacturing, towards the commercialization of high-resolution electronic ink display products in mid-2003. It will also outline the expanded role that TOPPAN Printing Company will play in the manufacturing and marketing of paper-like displays.

"Over the past year we have worked closely with TOPPAN to expand our strategic partnership to commercialize electronic paper," said Kuwada. "The presentation at the Electronic Display Forum will highlight the strength of our relationship and our joint commitment to bringing ePaper to market."

TOPPAN Printing Company, Ltd. is the global market share leader for color filter arrays in the flat panel display industry. TOPPAN recently made a significant expansion of its original $5 million investment in E Ink with an additional $25 million. Under terms of the partnership, TOPPAN will manufacture front plane laminate (FPL) products for E Ink's active matrix graphical displays business using electronic ink supplied by E Ink. TOPPAN also will become E Ink's distributor of the FPL product to Japan-based TFT display makers.
