Russ Wilcox to Present "Electronic Ink Displays for E-Books: Latest Progress, Availability, & Performance" at Electronic Book 2001
Cambridge, MA. - October 22, 2001 – E Ink Corporation, the leading developer of electronic ink technology for paper-like displays, today announced that Russ Wilcox, vice president and general manager, will be presenting at Electronic Book 2001, an open conference on electronic book standards, technologies and applications. Electronic Book will be held November 5-7, 2001 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington D.C. Wilcox will speak on November 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the Amphitheater. He will discuss the present and future advancements of electronic ink and the implications it will have on the electronic book industry.
Recently, E Ink won an R&D 100 Award from R&D Magazine for its demonstration development of the world's first working flexible active matrix display using plastic transistors from Lucent Technologies electronic paper, a new class of display that has the look and feel of conventional printed paper. In September, E Ink also announced the opening of the world's first semiconductor facility in Woburn, Mass. This facility is devoted exclusively to developing flexible transistors for use in electronic displays, moving E Ink one step closer to the development of RadioPaperTM, E Ink's ultimate vision for a wireless display that looks and feels like paper. Earlier this summer E Ink demonstrated the world's first high-resolution electronic ink displays for use in smart handheld devices and the world's first color electronic ink display.
