Company Recognized for the Development of Electronic Ink Technology and Products
Cambridge, MA. - December 1, 1999 – E Ink Corporation, the leading developer and marketer of electronic ink technology, today had its electronic ink recognized as a 1999 Industry Week "Technology of the Year." E Ink will be profiled in the December 6 issue of the magazine, which is devoted entirely to the "Technologies of the Year."
"To select the winners, the editors solicit reader nominations for a judging process designed to recognize outstanding achievement in technology," said John R. Brandt, editor and chief of Industry Week. "To be eligible, candidate technologies must relate in a significant way to accomplishments and achievements in the current year."
"The impact that our electronic ink technology will have spans virtually every industry. It's been a big year for us as we have moved electronic ink out of the lab and onto our Immedia signs," said Jim Iuliano, president and CEO of E Ink Corporation. "E Ink's inclusion in this very prestigious list of technologies is a validation of our work and our potential and is a great way to end 1999!"
The editors of Industry Week select 25 "Technologies of the Year" out of hundreds of entries. The judging is based on developments that show high potential for redirecting business opportunities and creating new growth in the manufacturing world. This is the seventh consecutive year the editors of Industry Week have singled out 25 technologies for their impact on society. Previous winners include Microsoft, Sun Microsystems and General Electric.
