The 2011 DYAs recognize innovative display products, components and applications that hold the most promise for shaping the future of the global display industry. The DYAs are awarded each year with Gold and Silver honors in three categories: Display of the Year, Display Application of the Year and Display Component of the Year.

"The SID Display of the Year Awards recognize significant advances made by the international display industry over the past year in bringing new and innovative products to the market," noted Robert Melcher, chairman of SID's DYA Awards Committee. "We are proud to award E Ink the 2011 Gold Display Component of the Year honor for its E Ink Triton Color Electrophoretic Display."

"E Ink Triton displays open new markets for eReaders by enabling the rendering of color charts, graphics and images required to make eTextbooks a reality," said Sriram Peruvemba, Chief Marketing Officer at E Ink. "It is an honor to be recognized by our peers in the display industry for our efforts to perfect ePaper technology."

The 2011 DYAs will be presented at the symposium luncheon on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, during Display Week 2011: The SID Annual International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition in Los Angeles, California. E Ink is demonstrating a wide variety of products currently in high-volume production using its ePaper technology in booth #727 at Display Week.

E Ink continues to revolutionize the ePaper market with its E Ink Triton color displays. Triton displays deliver high-contrast, sunlight readable, low-power performance that further closes the digital divide between paper and electronic displays. Triton enables color ePaper solutions, enhancing the visual experience for ePublishing markets including eBooks, eNewspapers, eMagazines and eTextbooks. Hanvon, the largest eReader developer in China, expects to begin shipping eReaders incorporating Triton in China beginning this summer.
